David Crane

David A. Crane is the Executive Director of the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra since 2014, managing board, orchestra, government, and community relations, as well as overseeing long-range planning and daily operations for Western Virginia’s only professional symphony orchestra. Prior to this role, David served as Principal at DC Artist Service, LLC from July 2016 to December 2021, assisting orchestras and artists in achieving their goals. David's experience also includes serving as General Manager for the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra (2012-2014) and Virginia Symphony Orchestra (2011-2012), where oversight of artistic and operational departments was a key responsibility. Earlier roles include Orchestra Manager at the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (1995-2005), where David managed extensive touring and production projects, and at the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra (1994-1995). David holds a BA in Music from Virginia Commonwealth University.
