Michiel Plakman has a strong background in the financial industry, with extensive experience in portfolio management and equity analysis. Michiel began their career at KPN, where they served as a Portfolio Manager for European Equities from September 1995 to December 1996. In 1997, they joined Achmea Global Investors as a Senior Portfolio Manager for Japanese Equities, where they worked until June 1999. Following this, Michiel joined Robeco, first as a Senior Portfolio Manager for Technology Equities from July 1999 to July 2011. Michiel then transitioned to the role of Vice President and Senior Analyst, specializing in Technology and Telecoms, from September 2011 to December 2011. Michiel's tenure with Robeco continued, and they eventually rose to the position of Executive Director for Robeco Global Equities from June 2009 to present. In November 2020, they took on the additional responsibility of Head of Global Equity.
Michiel Plakman obtained a Master's degree in Econometrics and Quantitative Economics from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) from 1989 to 1995. In 1993 and 1994, they also studied Economics/Econometrics at Brown University. Additionally, they earned a CFA Charter from the CFA Institute between 1996 and 1998.
