Andrés Torres

Andres Torres has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. Andres started their career as the Director of Community Outreach at the Chicago Office of Tourism and Culture, where they managed partnerships and designed communication strategies to enhance Chicago's cultural sector. After that, they worked as a Research and Communications Advisor for Farrells, contributing to an independent report commissioned by the UK Department of Culture, Media, and Sport. Andres then started their own independent consultancy, where they advised clients in the nonprofit, government, and private sectors on policy development and communications strategies.

In 2015, Torres joined the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning as part of the Regional Planning & Policy team, where they engaged with leaders, stakeholders, and residents to promote long-term economic growth through strategic transportation and land use policy. Andres later joined the Grand Victoria Foundation as a Program Officer, where they focused on promoting meaningful change in early childhood education and environmental conservation across Illinois.

Most recently, Torres worked at the Robert R. McCormick Foundation, starting as a Program Officer in Democracy and progressing through various roles to become the Vice President of Strategy, Planning, and Operations. In this role, they managed a $65M annual investment in Chicagoland communities and the operation of Cantigny, implementing a refreshed grantmaking strategy and engaging a diverse public through various programs and initiatives.

Andres Torres has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities from Yale University. Andres also holds a Master of Science degree in City Design & Social Science from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Additionally, they have attended Freie Universität Berlin, but no specific degree or field of study is mentioned.
