Sonia Mathew

Sonia Mathew has a diverse range of work experience spanning over several years. Sonia is currently a 2024 Fellow at Leadership Greater Chicago, a position they started in September 2023. Prior to this, Sonia worked at the Robert R. McCormick Foundation, where they held various roles, including Director of Partnerships and Senior Program Officer. Sonia also worked at Chicago United for Equity as a Senior Fellow from December 2020 to May 2022. Sonia has also held positions at Council on Foundations, North Lawndale College Prep, Urban Teacher Residency United, N.Lawndale College Prep Charter High School, Mikva Challenge, and Public Allies Chicago, where they gained experience in education, program management, and leadership development.

Sonia Mathew completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Michigan from 1995 to 1999. Sonia then pursued their Master's degree in Education from DePaul University from 2001 to 2009.
