Michele Evanchik

Michele Evanchik, director of program financial management, joined the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) in May 2016. With more than 20 years of experience working in the higher education and nonprofit sectors, she applies her extensive accounting, finance, and grants management expertise to overseeing budgeting and contracting for the Foundation’s Communications Department. She views her role at RWJF as a unique opportunity to apply her financial skills in creating social change and helping to build a Culture of Health.

Previously, Evanchik served as controller for Thomas Edison State University in Trenton, N.J., where she oversaw the University’s accounting, budgeting, and contracts and grant management. She held a related position, at Rider University in N.J., as assistant controller and grants manager, and she continues to serve as an adjunct professor with the Rider University Accounting Department.

She also takes great pride in her work with the Partnership for a Drug-Free America in New York City, where she served as controller and associate director of fundraising under former RWJF Board of Trustees Chairman James E. Burke. During her tenure there, she worked on the team that launched the Partnership’s Online Memorial for those who lost their lives to drugs and alcohol.

Evanchik earned a BS in Accountancy from Villanova University, and is a Certified Public Accountant in N.J.

Raised in Robbinsville, N.J., she currently lives in Yardley, Pa., with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys gardening (she cultivates a wide variety of hot peppers), reading, travel in the United States and Europe, volunteering, and spending time with her family.
