Sahan Abayarathna

Sahan Abayarathna is an experienced finance professional with a strong focus on private investing, corporate development, and investment strategy. Currently serving as Director at Highland Capital Management since October 2017, Sahan specializes in evaluating mezzanine and private equity opportunities with expertise in the full investment process. In addition, Sahan holds the position of Senior Vice President of Investments at Beneficient, focusing on direct private and special situation investments. Sahan has also contributed as a Board Member at CCS, leading restructuring efforts and growth initiatives, and serves in various advisory roles, including at Sigiriya Growth Advisors and Robinson & Co Banking. Previously, Sahan's career included roles at NexPoint, BBVA, Pine River Capital Management, and Simmons & Company International, providing a solid foundation in investment banking and financial analysis. Sahan earned a BBA in Finance from Texas McCombs School of Business.
