Prior to this role, Julien served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Karolinska Institutet from April 2016 to May 2020, where extensive work included the statistical analysis of genomic datasets to identify genetic factors associated with neurological and psychiatric disorders and leading a project on DNA regulatory elements linked to cancer growth through machine learning. Julien's earlier experience includes a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Université de Genève (October 2010 - January 2016), focusing on the statistical analysis of longitudinal genomic data in twin cohorts and integrating genetics with gene expression data. Julien holds a PhD in Bioinformatics from the University of Geneva (2010-2015), a Master of Science in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from EPFL (2008-2010), and a Bachelor of Science in the same field from EPFL (2003-2007).
