Lutz Mueller is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry and academia. Currently serving as Chair of the Translational Safety Committee at F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd since November 2021, Lutz has been a Distinguished Scientist and Project Leader at the same company since 2004, focusing on safety strategies and evaluation across various therapeutic areas. In addition, Lutz holds a position as Visiting Professor at the University of Lisbon's Faculty of Pharmacy since January 2016. Previous roles include Head of Immunology and in silico Safety at Novartis and Head of Mutagenicity and Carcinogenicity at the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM). Lutz obtained a Ph.D. in Zoology and Genetics from the Free University Berlin from 1977 to 1983.
