Associate Dean For Research And Graduate Studies at Rochester Institute of Technology

Edward Hensel serves as the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies at Rochester Institute of Technology since July 2001, where responsibilities include supporting faculty research initiatives and overseeing graduate programs in the Kate Gleason College of Engineering, as well as directing the Engineering Ph.D. program. In addition, Edward Hensel is the Professor and Department Head for the mechanical engineering department, with a goal of establishing it among the top 25 mechanical engineering programs nationally and globally. Previously, Edward Hensel held the position of Mechanical Engineering Professor at New Mexico State University from May 1982 to June 2001, providing leadership through funded research, mentoring, and serving on various committees. Edward Hensel earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from New Mexico State University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University.
