Lakshmi Sriram currently serves as a Research Assistant at The Rockefeller University since July 2023. Prior work includes a Master Thesis Student position at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune, where the thesis focused on the effects and applications of methylation-dependent restriction endonucleases on genomic DNA, supervised by Dr. Saikrishnan Kayarat. Additional experiences at IISER Pune include roles as a Research Intern in various labs, contributing to projects on Type IV Restriction Endonucleases, chimeric-protein vaccines for Malaria, and characterizing the fitness costs of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Lakshmi also acted as the Human Practices Coordinator for the iGEM 2020 team, which achieved notable recognition at the iGEM Giant Jamboree. Early experiences include internships at AID India Eureka and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, focusing on content development and research in microbiology, respectively. Lakshmi holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Biology from IISER Pune.
