Brian Komlos

Brian Komlos is an accomplished professional in recovery and marine operations, currently serving as the Director of Recovery & Marine Operations at Rocket Lab since July 2023. Previously, Brian worked at SpaceX from March 2018 to August 2023, initially as a Recovery Operations Engineer and advancing to Manager of Recovery Operations, where responsibilities included leading West Coast recovery operations and ensuring safe offshore recovery of Falcon 9 boosters and Dragon spacecraft. Prior experience at Shell from July 2011 to March 2018 encompassed roles such as Terminal Operations Manager, Reliability & Projects Engineer, and Pressure Equipment Engineer, focusing on operational efficiency, maintenance, and team supervision. Brian's career began in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Cadet, contributing to Arctic research efforts. Education includes a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University and training at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.
