Jennifer Borland

Director of Research Programs at Rockman Et Al

Jennifer completed her graduate studies with a concentration on educational media development, human-computer interface design, and interactive media research at Indiana University, where she also conducted media-related physiological and psychological research with the Institute for Communications Research and conducted training and research programs on distance learning for the Center for Excellence in Education. Since joining the team at Rockman et al in 1998, Jennifer has managed and contributed to program, product, and process evaluations for some of the world’s leading media producers, museums, game developers, and educational institutions, with grant funding from the U.S. Department of Education, the National Science Foundation, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Jennifer regularly presents at research and evaluation conferences and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Indiana Evaluation Association in addition to previously serving on the Visitor Studies Association’s Board of Directors. She is passionate about history as well as new, cutting-edge technologies. Jennifer has been both a life-long beneficiary and advocate of museum-based learning experiences, stemming from experiences in the 1990s working and volunteering with the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis’ Center for Exploration (a makerspace, digital media center, and art studio). She has also served on the board and in leadership positions for the Monroe County History Center, TEDxBloomington, the Southern Indiana Alumnae Panhellenic Association, Leadership Bloomington/Monroe County and the My Hero Project.
