Walter Balestra is a seasoned entrepreneur and leader in the health and renewable energy sectors, holding significant positions since 2000. As the founder and commissioner of ZorgDomein, Balestra has contributed to enhancing healthcare transparency in the Netherlands. In various leadership roles, including chairman of Stichting Metakids and Offgrid Renewable Energy, Balestra focuses on improving treatment access for children with metabolic diseases and providing clean energy solutions to off-grid communities. Balestra also co-owns NLC, a healthtech venture builder, and engages as an investor and mentor with organizations like Rockstart, while previously advising on MyDailyLifestyle and managing Performation, a leader in hospital management information.
