Kathy McKay

Project Manager – R&D at Rocky Mountain Bicycles

Kathy McKay has held a number of roles in the field of project management and engineering since 2001. Kathy began their career at MDA as a Systems Engineer in 2001, and then moved to OceanWorks International in 2004 as a Project Manager and Systems Engineer. In 2011, they returned to MDA as a Subcontract Manager and Systems Engineer. From 2014 to 2018, they held various roles at 3vGeomatics, including Operations and Project Manager, and Project Manager and Business Analyst. During this same period, they also worked at Selkirk Tangiers Helicopter Skiing, LLP as an MS Excel Instructor and Dispatcher, and at Revelstoke Mountain Resort as a Mountain Patrol and Trail Crew. In 2018, they began working at the Canadian Avalanche Association as a Project and Program Manager, Business Analyst, and Contractor, responsible for all projects related to the transition to a new competency-based membership. Currently, they are a Senior Project Manager at OSI Maritime Systems and a Project Manager – R&D at Rocky Mountain.

Kathy McKay earned their MBA in Management of Technology from Simon Fraser University between 2012 and 2014. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Systems Engineering from the same university between 1994 and 2001.
