Ashita Gona

Ashita Gona is currently an Associate at Carbon-Free Buildings for the Rocky Mountain Institute. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Communications Associate at Climate Nexus from December 2017 to March 2021. Ashita has also been self-employed as a Freelance Writer/Researcher since February 2017, with contribution credits including Al Gore's An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power. Prior to that, they worked as the Coastal Review Online Assistant Editor for the North Carolina Coastal Federation from May 2016 to May 2017, communicating salient environmental topics through 2-3 in-depth articles per month while managing and editing the publication's website and copy daily. Ashita also interned for the White House Council on Environmental Quality in June 2015 and for UNC Office of Research Communications from January 2015 to April 2015.

Ashita Gona has a Master of Science from The Johns Hopkins University in Energy Policy and Climate, and a Bachelor's Degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Journalism and Mass Communication.
