Gennelle Wilson is a Senior Associate in the Carbon-Free Electricity program. She focuses on reforming utility business models using performance-based regulation and incentive mechanisms to foster a swift transition to zero-emissions electricity.
Prior to joining RMI, Gennelle worked for the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions at Duke University. In that role, she designed and provided research support for a yearlong collaborative stakeholder process, which culminated in the North Carolina Energy Efficiency Roadmap. Gennelle was also a coauthor on the Power Sector Decarbonization Policy study for North Carolina.
Prior to focusing her career on the energy transition, Gennelle worked at RTI International in a variety of roles. As a Senior Strategy Analyst, Gennelle supported the design and rollout of company initiatives to break into new markets and service offerings. As a Project Associate, Gennelle supported the oversight and management of several USAID-funded early grade reading projects in sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia.
