Nicole Labutong

Principal, Climate Intelligence at RMI

Nicole Labutong is a principal with RMI’s Climate Intelligence Program, which leverages data and technology to enhance climate performance across material and energy industries. She leads Horizon Zero, a project to create a digital architecture based on blockchain technology to improve the accuracy and transparency of greenhouse gas accounting throughout the value chain.

Background

Before joining RMI, Nicole was the North America lead for the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials, an industry-led initiative that created the standard to measure portfolio GHG emissions by asset class. She was also an associate director at Guidehouse where she led engagements and managed teams to advance Fortune 500 companies on their sustainability journeys by setting and meeting climate change goals through effective strategy development and implementation.

Prior to those roles, Nicole led CDP’s technical work on science-based targets as a partner of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and helped to grow the initiative from its inception to having hundreds of companies committed to science-based targets.
