David South

David South has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. David began their career as the President and CEO of Great Rigs, Inc., a division of ADESA Inc., where they increased revenue from $11 million to $30 million in two years. David later served as the Director of Finance at North American AutoNet, overseeing all accounting functions and ensuring accurate reporting to the CEO. David then took on the role of CFO at APAC Mid-South, where they guided the accounting functions of a $200M construction materials and services company.

David also worked as a Consultant at Vestavia Country Club, where they implemented new club management software and redesigned the chart of accounts. David served as the CFO at Jesse Creek Mining, LLC, a local coal mining company, managing the accounting, IT, and treasury functions. David then joined Protective Life as the 2nd Vice President of Investment Accounting, overseeing the accurate accounting of a $40 billion investment portfolio.

David's next role was as the CFO at Whitaker Contracting Corporation, a family-owned construction company, where they provided financial leadership during a period of significant growth. David'sresponsibilities included managing the accounting function, budgeting, financial reporting, and IT. Most recently, they served as the Corporate Controller at BLOX, a startup design, manufacturer, and construction company focused on healthcare. David managed the day-to-day accounting function, budgeting, and financial reporting, and played a key role in establishing processes and procedures within the accounting department and raising capital for business growth.

Currently, David South is working as the Area Controller II at Rogers Group Inc. and is responsible for financial management in their area of business.

David South earned their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, which they attended from 1984 to 1989. David later pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from the same university, attending from 1993 to 1994.
