Eleanor Piper has a diverse work experience in various industries. Eleanor started their career as a Beta/Gamma Technical Support in the Beta Gamma Technical Support team at Sellafield Ltd. Eleanor then joined Rolls-Royce as a Reactor Core Materials Engineer, where they launched test projects and conducted research on Zircaloy fuel cladding. Eleanor also had a placement as a Future Innovation Engineer at Rolls-Royce, where they conducted an independent study on potential material selections for a Nuclear Thermal Propulsion Rocket. Eleanor co-founded and served as the Marketing Director of Seeding Change, a small-medium enterprise that donated all proceeds to charity. Currently, Eleanor is working as a Materials and Chemistry Test Lead at Rolls-Royce SMR, where they manage corrosion test programs and optimizes delivery timescales. Throughout their career, they have also participated in leadership training, completed over 50 hours of STEM volunteering, and completed the nucleargraduate scheme, gaining exposure to the nuclear industry.
Eleanor Piper studied Materials Engineering and Technology at the University of Birmingham from 2017 to 2020, earning a Bachelor of Engineering degree. Eleanor also obtained various certifications, including the Duty to Care Badge, STEM Ambassador certifications with different levels of engagement, a FAA Level 3 Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health, and the APM Project Fundamentals Qualification.
