Donald Gottwald

Mr. Gottwald serves as a member of Romeo Power’s board of directors. Mr. Gottwald has more than 30 years of experience as an executive and operator in the automotive and financial industries. From 2009 to 2020, Mr. Gottwald served in various positions with KAR Auction Services, Inc., a NYSE-listed company facilitating automotive marketplaces, including as President of Digital, Data, and Mobility Solutions from 2019 to 2020, Chief Strategy Officer from 2017 to 2020, Chief Operating Officer from 2014 to 2019, and Chief Executive Officer and President of Automotive Finance Corporation, a subsidiary of KAR, from 2009 to 2014. Prior to KAR, Mr. Gottwald served as an Executive Vice President in the consumer finance division of HSBC Holdings plc from 2005 to 2008 and served in various roles, including as Executive Vice President and Managing Director, for Nuvell Financial Services Corp., a subsidiary of GMAC Financial Services (now Ally Financial) serving the OEM and retail automotive industry. Mr. Gottwald’s non-profit engagement includes his current service on the Northwood University Automotive Management Curriculum Advisory Board. Mr. Gottwald received his M.B.A. from Duke University, Fuqua School of Business, where he graduated as a Fuqua Scholar and a General Motors Fellow, and received his B.B.A. in Management, summa cum laude, from Northwood University.
