Octavian Aurel Păunescu

Geology specialist with experience gained in multinational and multicultural oil and gas companies is enthusiastic, well-organized, and result-oriented.

He has been part of the S.N.G.N. Romgaz team since 2019 when he started as a geologist in the Exploration Contracts Department and afterward he became head of the department. Mr. Paunescu is currently Exploration Appraisal Director responsible for coordinating and monitoring the exploration activity, which represents the studies and operations carried out in order to identify, quantitatively, and qualitatively assess reservoirs and establish the technical and economic conditions to capitalize on such reserves.

Graduate of Bucharest University, Faculty of Geology and Geophysics, and of master’s degree in Geology, he has numerous pieces of training, qualifications, and certifications relevant to the oil and gas field. He has advanced knowledge of the English language, teamwork, and communication skills.
