Shannon Hong

Shannon Hong has a diverse work experience with various roles in different companies starting from 2016. They worked as an Organizing Fellow, Special Projects Intern for the Democratic National Convention, and Correspondence and Briefings Intern at Hillary for America in 2016. In 2017, Shannon joined Optionizr as a Business Development Intern, where they developed a strategic plan for market expansion in the EU and composed the company's business plan. They then worked as an Economics Research Assistant for Professor Clair Brown at the Institute for Research on Labor and Employment (IRLE) from 2017 to 2018. In 2018, Shannon held two positions simultaneously, working as a Datanaut at NASA and in Business Development & Growth at Lark Health, where they focused on financial modeling, analysis, and due diligence. They joined Roots Studio in January 2023 as a Strategic Consultant, working on strategic consulting projects. Prior to that, from 2020 to 2022, Shannon worked at Scale AI in various roles, including Product Manager, Manager of Strategy & Marketplace Ops, and Ops Project Manager.

Shannon Hong has a diverse educational background. They attended The Harker School, where they completed their high school education. After high school, Shannon went on to study at Tsinghua University as an exchange student, focusing on Development Economics and International Development. Additionally, Shannon pursued further education at the University of California, Berkeley, where they studied Development Studies & Data Science.
