Gareth Thomas is currently a Post-Doctoral Research Scientist at Rothamsted Research, specializing in Microbial Chemical Ecology. Prior to this role, Gareth worked as a Research Scientist in Plant Biology/Microbiology at Cardiff University, where Gareth focused on investigating volatile organic compounds as markers of salad leaf contamination by Listeria monocytogenes. Gareth also completed their Ph.D. in Biosciences at the University of Exeter, after obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of York. In addition to their academic achievements, Gareth has gained practical experience in various fields including agriculture policy research and molecular biology through internships and student placements.
