Katerina Spranger, PhD, is the Founder and CEO of Oxford Heartbeat since July 2016, where the focus is on enhancing the accuracy and safety of cardiovascular surgeries through advanced medical device software. In addition, Katerina serves as an Enterprise Fellow at the Royal Academy of Engineering since March 2017 and previously held the position of Research Associate in Biomedical Engineering at University College London from December 2014 to July 2016. Katerina's earlier experience includes working as a Researcher in AI at Sony from November 2008 to October 2010. Katerina holds a DPhil (PhD) in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Oxford, a Diploma in Strategy & Innovation from Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, and both BSc and MSc degrees in Computer Science with a minor in Business from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
