Margaret McCartney

Margaret McCartney is a GP partner in Glasgow. She is Honorary Fellow at the Centre for Evidence Based Medicine at Oxford University and honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of St Andrews. She will take up a Chief Scientist Office Career Researcher Fellowship in late 2020 examining issues relating to evidence based medicine in practice. She has been a nationally elected council member for the last 6 years and is a member of the Ethics Committee. She has worked as senior fellow in Evidence and Values for the RCGP, ending 2020. She is a freelance writer, author, and regular broadcaster for BBC Radio 4.
