Ian Colquhoun

Ian Colquhoun has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Ian is currently serving as the Associate Medical Director/Postgraduate Dean at NHS Scotland Academy. Prior to this, they held various positions at the University of Glasgow, including being the Undergraduate Medical School OSCE Lead and an Honorary Associate Clinical Professor. Ian also worked as the Director of Clinical Skills at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, and as the Director of the Clinical Anatomy Skills Centre at RCPSG. Additionally, they served as the Chair of the IMRCS Paper Panel at the Royal College of Surgeons. Ian Colquhoun has also worked as a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon at NHS and as a Vice President (Surgical) at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons. Ian held the role of Deputy Director of Surgical Examinations at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and worked as a Cardiopulmonary Transplant Fellow at NHS earlier in their career.

Ian Colquhoun attended Hamilton Academy / Grammar from 1971 to 1977. Ian then went on to study Medicine at the University of Glasgow from 1977 to 1982, earning their MB ChB degree.
