S. Niru Nirthanan

S. Niru Nirthanan currently serves as Dean of Medicine and Program Director for the Doctor of Medicine at Griffith University, where responsibilities also include roles as Professor of Pharmacology and Deputy Head of Learning and Teaching in the School of Medicine and Dentistry. Nirthanan is Editor-in-Chief of Toxin Reviews, a position held since January 2022, and has been a Fellow of the British Pharmacological Society and ASPET since the early 2000s, contributing to numerous committees and initiatives in pharmacology education. Other notable achievements include fellowships with the Academy of Medical Educators and the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, as well as a Senior Fellowship with the Higher Education Academy. Nirthanan's academic background includes a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School and a PhD in Pharmacology and Biochemistry from NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
