Daniel Neighman has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. Daniel is currently serving as the Head of Engineering at royal.io starting from July 2021. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of Engineering at Atomic from February 2020 to July 2021. From September 2014 to January 2020, Daniel worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Opendoor. Daniel then joined Square as a Senior Software Engineer from May 2012 to September 2014.

Before their tenure at Square, Daniel worked at Jetstar Airways as a Senior Developer from July 2011 to May 2012. Daniel also held the position of Senior Software Developer during the same period. From July 2009 to September 2011, Daniel worked at NZX as a Software Nerd. Daniel gained experience as an Application Support Engineer at Engine Yard from April 2008 to July 2009.

Prior to their transition into the software industry, Daniel started their career as a Product & Process Engineer at Empire Rubber Products in December 1999. Daniel worked extensively in CAD, Non-Linear FEA, design, PFMEA, DFMEA, OH&S & Safety, as well as product and process concept design and implementation. Daniel was responsible for continuous improvement and Lean practices. Daniel also briefly worked as a Software Engineer at CLEAR in 2008.

Daniel Neighman obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Swinburne University of Technology from 1996 to 2001. Daniel then furthered their education at La Trobe University from 2002 to 2004, where they completed a Graduate Diploma in Computing.
