Simone Marras

Simone Marras is a tenured associate professor at the New Jersey Institute of Technology since September 2017, specializing in fluid dynamics, scientific computing, and atmospheric sciences. Research focuses on computational techniques for fluid flows, studying phenomena such as clouds, hurricanes, and tsunamis. In addition, Marras serves as an associate editor for the Quarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society and is a topical editor for the journal Geoscientific Model Development. Previous roles include visiting associate at the Climate Modeling Alliance, research scientist at Stanford University, and NRC research associate at the Naval Postgraduate School. Marras holds a Ph.D. in Computational Fluid Dynamics and Applied Mathematics from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Politecnico di Milano.
