Ruben B. has served as the Head of the Observations Department at the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) since July 2014, overseeing critical observation services and remote sensing technologies. Prior roles at KNMI include Program Manager for Project & Product Portfolio Management, Project Manager for Overseas Services, and Project Manager for the crowdsourcing initiative WOW-NL. Before joining KNMI, Ruben B. worked at RIVM from 2006 to February 2015, where responsibilities included advising on national environmental legislation and managing the National Air Quality Improvement Program. Ruben B. also has experience as a Field Team Leader for the National Environmental Incident Service and as a scientific air quality researcher. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Organization, Change, and Management, an Extended Minor in Public Administration, and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences, all from Utrecht University.
