Dr Majd al Naber

Dr. Majd Al Naber has a diverse work experience in various organizations and roles. Currently, they serve as the Director of Science for Society Centre at the Royal Scientific Society, a position they have held since 2023. Dr Majd also holds the role of Manager of the Sustainable Development Goals Division at the same organization since 2022. Prior to this, Dr. Al Naber worked as the Director General at the West Asia-North Africa (WANA) Institute from 2023. Dr Majd previously held the position of Team Leader & Senior Researcher - Sustainable Development at the WANA Institute starting from 2018.

Dr. Al Naber has also been a part of Wageningen University & Research, where they were a Ph.D. Candidate and Researcher from 2012 to 2017. Dr Majd briefly served as a PHD Researcher at Irstea in 2017. Additionally, they worked as a Water Expert in the Euro-Mediterranean Expert Group, MedSpring EU-Project from 2014 to 2017.

Prior to that, they held the position of Key Area Coordinator, Water at the EU-Funded Program "Support to Research & Technological Development & Innovation" (SRTD) from 2014 to 2017. Dr. Al Naber also worked as a Consultant with USAID from 2014 to 2016.

Before their international roles, they were actively involved at The University of Jordan as a Research Assistant, conducting research on various topics such as deficit irrigation, climate change impact on water and agriculture, and gender and water. Dr Majd was also a member of the organizing committee for EU projects and prepared reports on project activities.

Dr. Majd Al Naber completed a Bachelor's Degree in land, water, and environment at the University of Jordan from 2003 to 2007. Following that, from 2007 to 2009, they pursued a Master of Science in Water Resources Management at CIHEAM-Italy. Later, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Water Resources Engineering from both Wageningen University & Research and L'Institut Agro Montpellier, graduating in 2017.
