Matthias Neitsch is an experienced professional in environmental and waste management, currently serving as Geschäftsführer at Re-Use Austria since August 2006 and as President of RREUSE since March 2020. Additionally, Matthias Neitsch has been the Geschäftsführer of VABÖ Verband Abfallberatung Österreich since January 1992, a platform representing around 350 municipal environmental and waste advisors in Austria. Previous roles include serving as a municipal environmental and waste advisor for Stadtgemeinde Bad Aussee and AWV Schladming from 1990 to 2003. Matthias Neitsch holds a Diplom in Fundraising from WIFI Wien and a Diplom in Municipal Environmental and Waste Consulting from ARGE Müllvermeidung.

RREUSE is an independent non-profit organisation representing social enterprises active in the field of re-use, repair and recycling. Approximately 110,000 workers, trainees and volunteers are engaged in the activities of its 35 members across 31 European countries and the USA. RREUSE’s main vision is for Europe to support the role of social enterprise in a circular economy, providing meaningful work opportunities to thousands of vulnerable members of our community through innovative economic, social and environmentally beneficial activities. RREUSE’s primary mission is to help tackle poverty, social exclusion and a throwaway culture by promoting policies, best practices and partnerships that support the professional approach and development of social enterprises working in environmental services with high potential for local and inclusive job creation, notably re-use and repair.
