Peter Townsend

Peter Townsend currently serves as the Chief Compliance Officer for RSA UK & International, part of the Intact Group, overseeing Compliance Advisory, Regulatory Affairs, Compliance Assurance, Data Protection, and Financial Crime since August 2022. Previously, Peter held the position of Group Head of Financial Crime and UK & International Head of Data Protection at Intact from June 2021 to August 2022. Peter's extensive experience at RSA spans from February 2012, where responsibilities as Group Head of Financial Crime and Data Protection Officer included advising on GDPR compliance and maintaining financial crime risk frameworks. Early career roles include legal positions at Berwin Leighton Paisner and Halliwells LLP, focusing on corporate law and finance. Peter earned a degree in Modern History from the University of Oxford and qualified in law at the College of Law, London.
