Patrick Alston

Patrick Alston is currently the Director of Security Operations at RStudio. Prior to this, they were the Director of Development Security Operations at Premier Inc. from May 2008 to March 2022. Patrick was also previously the Network/Systems Administrator at Gevity from February 2007 to May 2008 where they were responsible for designing, building, and managing a Microsoft Windows server farm of web, application, mail, and database servers. Patrick has also developed and supported disaster recovery and backup systems for production servers.

Patrick Alston has a BA in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Patrick also has certification from (ISC)² in Certified Cloud Security Professional and Certified Information Systems Security Professional.

Patrick Alston works with Joseph Tse - Director, IT Operations, Jeff Vroom - Software Architect, and Charles Teague - Software Architect. Patrick Alston reports to Joe Cheng, CTO.
