Amaury Lancelin

Amaury Lancelin is currently a PhD Candidate at Réseau de Transport d'Electricité (RTE), focusing on Deep Learning and rare event sampling to analyze climate extremes affecting the power system in collaboration with Laboratoire de Météorologie Dynamique (LMD) at ENS. Prior experience includes an internship as a researcher at Laboratoire de Météorologie Dynamique- IPSL, where Amaury conducted probabilistic forecasts of cold spells, and as an Affiliate Researcher at Berkeley Lab, studying climate sensitivity to increasing atmospheric CO2 levels. Amaury has also worked as a Junior Consultant at Duo Conseil X-HEC, authored a MOOC for Ecole Polytechnique, and served as a Junior Data Consultant at eleven strategy. Previous to these roles, Amaury held a Paramedic Lieutenant position with the Firefighters of Paris and completed military training with Armée de Terre. Educational credentials include a PhD in Climate Science from Ecole normale supérieure, a Master’s degree in Machine Learning from ENS Paris-Saclay, an Engineering degree in Applied Mathematics from École Polytechnique, and a Double Bachelor in Mathematics and Physics from Université Paris-Saclay.
