Laura Rebecca Kenyon has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Laura Rebecca began their career as a Media Coordinator at Sam Schwartz Engineering, PLLC in 1999. After that, they worked as an Associate Editor and Contributing Writer at NewBay Media from 2001 to 2009. During this time, they generated content, wrote feature stories, and edited magazine copy. From 2002 to 2009, Kenyon was an Instructor of Media and Communications at Monroe Community College and Finger Lakes Community College.

In 2009, Kenyon joined SUNY Geneseo as a Web Communications Manager. Here, they were responsible for digital marketing and brand strategy, social media management, and generating content for multiple media platforms. Laura Rebecca led and managed the site-wide redesign of Geneseo.edu and provided consultation on various communication strategies.

Kenyon also worked as a Contributing Food Writer at City Newspaper from 2013 to 2016. In 2002, they established Kenyon Technology Consulting, where they served as a Strategist and Content Creator until 2018. Their role in the company involved developing strategies and creating content for clients.

Their most recent position is the Director of Communications and Customer Experience at RTS - Regional Transit Service, where they have been since 2014. In this role, they develop and executes comprehensive communication, marketing, and engagement strategies and shapes the organization's image and reputation. Additionally, they improve customers' and community members' experience and impression of RTS.

Laura Rebecca Kenyon completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Media Studies at Marymount Manhattan College from 1996 to 1999. Laura Rebecca then pursued further education and obtained their Master of Arts degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from New York University between 1999 and 2001.
