Sachinthana Pathiranage began their professional career in 2016 as a Promotions Manager for the IEEE R10 WIE Supporting Volunteer Committee. They also served as a Sectional Student Representative for the IEEE Sri Lanka Section during that time. In 2017, they held various roles, including Assistant Secretary for the IEEE WIE Sri Lanka Section and Editorial Committee Member for the IEEE R10 Young Professionals. They also worked as a Secretary for the IEEE WIE International Leadership Summit in Sri Lanka and served as an Onsite Volunteer for the IEEE Women in Engineering International Leadership Conference. In 2018, they transitioned to the role of Software Engineer at LSEG Technology and later worked as a Senior Software Engineer. They also became involved with Monash University in 2019, where they served in multiple roles, including Teaching Associate, Session Coordinator - eAssessment IT Support, and PHD Candidate. In the same year, they also worked as a Trainee Data Scientist for DataDisca. Their most recent position is as a Software Engineer at Rubicon Water, which began in 2022.
Sachinthana Pathiranage began their education at Sanghamitta Balika Vidyalaya, Galle in 1997. Sachinthana completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering at the University of Moratuwa from 2011 to 2015. In 2010, Sachinthana attended the Institute of Java and Technological Studies (IJTS) and acquired the Oracle Certified Java Programmer (OCPJP) certification in Java Programming. Sachinthana later pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering at Monash University from 2019 to 2022. Additionally, in 2014, they enrolled at the Institute of Personnel Management (IPM), Sri Lanka to study Human Resource Management, although the end year for this program is not specified.
