In July 2020, Johnson retired as President and COO of Activision Blizzard (NASDAQ: ATVI), a leading technology and entertainment company with over 400 million monthly players engaged in global franchises that include Candy Crush, Call of Duty, Diablo, Overwatch, and World of Warcraft. Prior roles at Activision included executive strategy, operations, and planning positions, including COO and CFO for Activision Publishing, COO of Activision Studios, and SVP and Chief of Staff.

During a two year hiatus from Activision, Johnson was co-founder and COO for Altschool, a Silicon Valley education technology company that raised over $200M to develop personalized, whole-child learning platforms for students and classrooms.

He attended the Stanford Graduate School of Business and graduated with honors as an Arjay Miller Scholar, going on to work as a consultant at Bain & Company. Prior to business school, Johnson was the National Field Director for President George W. Bush’s 2004 re-election campaign, overseeing nationwide voter turnout and helping to pioneer analytics-based voter persuasion; for this work he was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2004 Election by the American Association of Political Consultants. From 2001-2003, he served in the White House as Associate Director of Political Affairs, and from 1999-2000 he served as a Regional Director on President Bush’s first national campaign.

Johnson’s philanthropic energy is devoted to the environment and education. He serves on the board of the Environmental Defense Action Fund, a leading conservation group, as well as education technology boards.
