Mary Hughes

Co-Founder & EVP Geology at Ruckus Energy

Mary Hughes has a strong background in geology and has held various roles in different companies throughout their career. Mary co-founded Ruckus Energy in 2019 and served as the Co-Founder & EVP Geology. Prior to that, they co-founded and worked as the EVP at Mid-World Exploration LLC from 2016 to 2019, where they provided data-driven analysis and specialized in prospect analysis and project management.

Mary also worked at LILIS ENERGY INC as the VP Geology in 2018, where they successfully built a geologic team to meet company goals and support continuous development. Mary also had a role as a Senior Geologist in the same company from 2017 to 2018. Before that, they worked at Apache Corporation as an Operations Geologist from 2014 to 2016, where they were responsible for leading operations in the northern Delaware Basin asset.

Mary's career also includes working as a Geologist at Activa Resources from 2011 to 2014, where they gained experience in exploration and operations, and as an Intern from 2011 to 2011. Mary also had roles as a TA/RA and Research Assistant at The University of Texas at San Antonio from 2008 to 2011.

Mary started their career as a Data Analyst at Terrapoint Canada (Ambercore) in 2007 and worked as a Lab Instructor at Sam Houston State University from 2005 to 2007. Overall, Mary has demonstrated expertise and experience in geology, project management, data analysis, and team building, making their a valuable asset in the field.

Mary Hughes obtained their AS degree in Geology from Lone Star College from 2000 to 2005. Mary then pursued their BS degree in Geology at Sam Houston State University, where they studied from 2005 to 2007. Mary furthered their education by earning an MS degree in Geology from The University of Texas at San Antonio between 2008 and 2013.
