Diyar Kurda

Diyar Kurda has extensive experience in media and leadership roles, currently serving as Bureau Chief and Correspondent at Rudaw Media Network since May 2015, providing insights from Washington, D.C. Previous positions include Head of Department and Editor at World Merit for a brief period in 2016, as well as an Executive role at Rwandz Culture Center from November 2009 to August 2015. Diyar has held significant student leadership positions, including President of the Student Union at the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr from July 2013 to July 2014, Prime Minister of the First Youth Government in KRI from March 2013 to June 2014, and Secretary General of the Kurdistan Youth and Student Renaissance from March 2010 to March 2014. Diyar holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Water Resource Engineering and Management from the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr, where studies were completed between 2010 and 2016.
