Sumanth Puram

Sumanth Puram is the current Vice President of Engineering at RudderStack. Sumanth has also served as the Co-Founder and Chief Technical Officer at Code Astra from June 2017 to June 2019. In this role, they were responsible for leading and building products for global clients, as well as picking the right technological tools. Sumanth built a team of 15 engineers during their time at Code Astra.

Some of the notable projects that Sumanth has worked on include architecting and delivering a home automation solution with react-native mobile apps that were built completely with AWS Serverless. Sumanth also built self-healing custom RaspberryPi images with secured data and real-time data synchronization between the user phones and the home automation system. For this project, they led a team of 5 engineers.

In addition, Sumanth built a native mobile and web app for a Silicon Valley based startup that tracked cryptocurrency prices and portfolios. The backend of the app displayed price data from exchanges with beautiful graphs. The notification engine for the price change and portfolio updates was also built by Sumanth.

Prior to their work at Code Astra, Sumanth was a Senior Software Engineer at Kiwi, Inc. from February 2012 to June 2017. Before that, they served as a Member Technical Staff - II at NetApp from August 2009 to February 2012.

Sumanth Puram completed a B. Tech in Computer Science & Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras.
