Soumya Srilekha Balijepally

Soumya Srilekha Balijepally has a strong background in robotics and research. Their most recent experience was as a Robotics Engineer at Rugged Robotics, starting in February 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Robotics Field Engineer at Outrider from June 2021 to November 2022. In this role, they provided technical support, conducted data analysis, developed tools, and designed safety-critical code for remote monitoring of robotic systems.

Before their role at Outrider, Soumya was a Research Intern at Honda Research Institute USA, Inc. from January 2021 to May 2021. During this time, they implemented deep learning algorithms for object identification and image captioning in ADAS scenarios.

Soumya's earlier experiences include being a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Robotics Graduate Student Researcher at Worcester Polytechnic Institute from August 2020 to January 2021, as well as a Summer Research Intern at Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL) - DRDO from April 2018 to September 2018.

Soumya Srilekha Balijepally completed their Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering at GITAM Deemed University from 2015 to 2019. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute from 2019 to 2021.

In addition to their formal education, Soumya Srilekha Balijepally obtained certification in Data Science and Analytics from Udemy in June 2017.
