Marcel Steward is an experienced leader in climate change, sustainability, and project management with a career spanning several decades across various sectors. Currently, as the Head of Climate Change & Sustainability at Runnymede Borough Council since May 2018, Marcel Steward oversees the implementation of the Runnymede Climate Change Strategy, manages key infrastructure projects, and directs emergency response initiatives. Prior roles include strategic project management positions at Lewes and Eastbourne Councils and Qairos LLP as Chief Executive Officer, as well as consultancy roles focused on environmental risk and urban regeneration. Marcel Steward holds a PhD in Earth Sciences from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and a BSc (Hons) in Geology from UCL.
