Patrick Mackay

Patrick Mackay is the current COO at Runtime Verification. Prior to that, they were the site director and general manager at Capital One, where they were responsible for day-to-day operations, budgeting and procurement, business development, project and people management, and human resources and recruitment.

Mackay was the founding director of Capital One's first campus-based research and development center. Patrick was responsible for account financial planning, forecasting, and procurement to support a $2MM budget. Patrick also defined and deployed an internal business development process, which led to the completion of 56 projects from across Capital One's technology operation.

In terms of project and people management, Mackay spearheaded the introduction of a flexible project management process with semi-integration of agile development methodology. As a result of their efforts, 60% of projects were in further development or production. Patrick also oversaw the recruitment of 10 full-time technical staff members, which represented a 900% growth since the center opened in Fall 2015.

Mackay was also responsible for negotiating and signing a master research agreement with the University of Illinois, which enabled the bank to engage in sponsored faculty research. Patrick successfully placed 120 intern positions across the university's student population, with a 90% success rate in placing interns in the bank's formal Technology Rotational Program (TDP). Mackay also consistently met the intern program's diversity target of hiring 40% women and persons of color.

Patrick Mackay has a BSFS from Georgetown University in International Politics and an MBA from Gies College of Business - University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in General Management and Finance.
