Olusunmisola Oyesiku

Olusunmisola Oyesiku, MD, MSc has a diverse work experience. They currently serve as the Chief Medical Officer at Rural Health Medical Program, Inc., where they participate in executive team meetings and strategic planning to improve patient care and service delivery. In addition, they collaborate with leadership to achieve operational excellence and financial sustainability. They also work as a Family Medicine and Women's Health Physician at the same organization.

Dr. Oyesiku also holds the role of Founding Member at Our Community Doc, a non-profit organization focused on promoting community health events and preventative health practices in the local Selma community and neighboring counties.

In their previous positions, Dr. Oyesiku served as the Community Chair Chief Resident at UAB Selma Family Medicine, where they facilitated the relationship between the residency program and the community through various projects. They also worked as a Resident Physician at UAB Medicine, gaining experience in rural and community-focused family medicine.

Prior to their work in the United States, Dr. Oyesiku worked as a Reproductive Health Officer at the Ogun State Ministry of Health in Nigeria, and also held various roles at academic institutions and healthcare facilities, including Institute for Women's Health, UCL and Redwood Clinics Abeokuta.

Olusunmisola Oyesiku, MD, MSc has a diverse education history that includes degrees and certifications in various fields.

Olusunmisola obtained their High School Diploma from Louisville Girls High School in 2003. Olusunmisola then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) degree at Olabisi Onabanjo University from 2003 to 2010.

After completing their undergraduate studies, they attended Windsor University School of Medicine, St Kitts, where they earned their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in 2012.

In 2016-2017, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Reproductive Science and Women's Health at UCL.

Olusunmisola further specialized in Family Medicine, completing their residency at UAB Selma Family Medicine from 2018 to 2021. Olusunmisola became a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine in 2021.

To enhance their leadership skills, they completed a program in Organizational Leadership at Harvard Business School Online in 2023.

Oyesiku has also obtained various certifications, including becoming a Diplomate of Obesity Medicine by the American Board of Obesity Medicine in 2023 and a General Practitioner recognized by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria in 2013.

Furthermore, they have received notable honors such as being selected as a Scholar for the Family Medicine Leads Emerging Leaders Institute by the AAFP Foundation in 2020/21 and being awarded the Chevening Scholarship by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 2016/2017.

Additionally, they completed the National Youth Services Corps (NYSC) in Nigeria in 2014 and obtained the Educational Commission For Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification through the USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Examination) in 2013.
