Michael W. Urbut

Michael W. Urbut is a board member at Rush University. Michael has over three decades of experience in the food industry, holding various positions such as director, treasurer, and chair of finance committee.

Urbut started their career in food industry in 1977 as VP and controller at CFS Continental. After eight years at the company, they joined Staley Continental, Inc. as VP and controller. After three years at Staley Continental, they became executive VP and CFO of Fresh Start Foods LP. In 1999, they were appointed director of FSB Global Holdings, Inc (dba Fresh Start Bakeries). Michael stayed with the company for eleven years until their retirement in 2010.

After leaving the food industry, Urbut became involved with the Alzheimer's Association. Michael served as a director on the board for nine years until their resignation in 2009. The following year, they joined Darling International as a director and chair of audit committee. Michael remained with Darling until 2016.

Urbut has been a board member at Rush University since 2018.

Michael W. Urbut received their MBA in finance from the University of Chicago and their BS in finance from the University of Illinois Chicago.
