Bev Downer

Bev Downer has a diverse work experience in the field of human resources and administration. Bev is currently serving as the Director of Human Resources at Russel Metals since April 2021. Prior to this, they had a long tenure at Russel Metals, starting in 1992. During their time there, they held several roles including Manager of HR Systems, Project Manager of HRMS, and Human Resources Analyst. In these positions, they were responsible for managing outsourced services, coordinating system development, and implementing strategic changes in the use of the HR management system. Before joining Russel Metals, Bev worked as a Pension Administrator at Mercer from 1990 to 1992 and as an Accounts Payable at Ericsson from 1988 to 1990.

Bev Downer attended Vanier College from 1979 to 1981, where they earned a College Diploma in Humanities/Humanistic Studies. Bev later pursued their Bachelor of Arts degree in Labour Relations at McGill University from 1981 to 1984.
