Jake Hightower has held several research and data-related positions over the past 7 years. In 2021, they began working as a Data Intelligence Manager at Ruvos. Prior to this, they were a Data Scientist at Universal Parks & Resorts from 2019-2021, where they used NLP to create a new, multi-level categorical system for over 40,000 food & beverage products and created a Deep Neural Network to accurately predict revenue lift. From 2017-2019, they worked as a Health Research Analyst at HMS. In 2016, they were a Research Associate at the University of Florida Department of Tourism & Recreation. From 2014-2016, they were a Research Associate and Biostatistician at Shands Hospital Clinical Oncology Group, where they managed 5 years of multi-stage cancer data, evaluated their spatio-temoral distribution, designed & implemented clustering algorithms, and informed Shand's Hospital of statistically significant hotspots of late-stage cancer clusters.

Jake Hightower began their educational career in 2005, when they attended the University of Tampa and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Jake continued their studies at the University of Florida, where they obtained a Masters of Science in Spatial Epidemiology/ Medical Geography in 2012. Jake then remained at the University of Florida to pursue a PhD in the same field, which they completed in 2016.
