Malte Brettel

Malte Brettel is a Professor and Head of the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Group at RWTH Aachen University, where Malte has also served as Vice-Rector for Industry and Business Relations since 2003. In addition to academic roles, Malte Brettel is a Board Member at digitalHUB Aachen e.V. and the Managing Director of RWTH Innovation, both positions held since 2017. Malte Brettel holds an adjunct professorship in Entrepreneurship at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management since 2011 and previously served as Chairholder in International Management and Adjunct Professor in Entrepreneurship at HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management from 2002 to 2003. Prior experience includes being a Managing Partner at Abebooks from 1999 to 2001. Malte Brettel obtained a Doctorate in Economic Sciences from WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management and a degree in Industrial Engineering specializing in Mechanical Engineering from Technische Universität Darmstadt.
