HE Zhang has a diverse work experience in the petroleum industry, spanning from 2008 to the present. They started their career at Schlumberger as a Petroleum Engineer, where they worked as both a contractor and full-time employee from May 2008 to July 2012. In July 2012, they joined Ryder Scott Co. LP as a Petroleum Engineer and later advanced to the role of Senior Petroleum Engineer in April 2016. They continued to progress within the company, becoming a Vice President in June 2019 and eventually a Senior Vice President in June 2022. During their time at Ryder Scott Co. LP, they specialized in reserve evaluation, reservoir management, and economic analysis, focusing on reserves estimations in accordance with regulatory guidelines. In addition to their work in the industry, HE Zhang also held a role as an Adjunct Faculty member at the University of Houston-Victoria starting in September 2016.
HE Zhang has a strong educational background in petroleum engineering and chemistry. HE obtained a PhD in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University, where they studied from 2005 to 2010. Prior to their doctoral studies, Zhang pursued a Master's degree in Chemistry at the University of New Orleans from 2004 to 2006. HE completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Science and Technology of China from 1998 to 2003, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Polymer Chemistry/Computer application.
In addition to their academic degrees, Zhang has also obtained several certifications that further enhance their professional qualifications. HE became a member of the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers in January 2016. In January 2015, they achieved the certification of SPE Certified Petroleum Engineer from the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
